About Thinking Outside the Squeezebox II
The Second Annual National Alternative Accordion Symposium and Festival
What is a symposium? What is alternative accordion music? A symposium is defined as a : a convivial party with music and conversation b : a social gathering at which there is free interchange of ideas. TOSB2 is exactly that - a celebration of the accordion – an opportunity for musicians to play together, exchange ideas and explore new music. Why alternative accordion music? Well, it’s time to “think outside the box” and try something new. Traditional accordion music is wonderfully ethnically diverse – so, let’s share the love and listen to what happens when those worlds collide! Think Jazz, Rock, Zydeco, Klezmer, Tejano, Polka, Folk, and Classical accordion music in the same room and you'll have a better understanding of what the symposium is all about!
